4 CRYPTO ARTISTS TO BUY AND WHY.
You’re thinking of starting a NFT Art collection and not sure where to start?
Firstly, I’m not a financial advisor, think of me as an Art Advisor and since that’s an unregulated area, I can give you recommendations without any guarantee it’ll make you money. You might get better art which helps over time might also go up in value?
I’m going to recommend some artist’s NFTs to buy, however I do not recommend you buy anything you don’t like (Golden Rule #1).
As a strong believer of Skin in the game, each of these artists I have acquired and as the first of a series of articles on collecting Art NFTs, I will be attempting to show you some of the criteria I used when making art buying decisions.
Golden Rule #2 Always buy the artist
The 4 artists worthy of consideration are;
Jeff Davis
Yura Miron
Gala Mirissa
SKYNECTA
I have picked these artists for many reasons and one of them is affordability. Their NFTs can be purchased for very little money and that’s always a good way to start collecting. I can recommend Blue-Chip Nfts that start at $1,000 and go over $10,000, but that’s just telling you bloody obvious.
The ART NFTs I prefer to recommend can be purchased from $20-$100. There’s a huge room for a greater upswing in prices as they are discovered by more of the NFT collecting community and if they don’t go up, the loss it trivial.
The Golden Rule #2 Always buy the artist means buy the artist’s reputation, their commitment to their artistic practice and their creative artistic vision. Do your own research and see if an artist you’re interested in has any reputation in the “real world” or “crypto art world”.
The truth is an NFT has no intrinsic value, any real value is attached to the artist, their reputation, the quality of the artwork and it’s scarcity.
Jeff Davis is an artist with a singular artistic vision that has translated seamlessly from the real world into NFTs. As an exhibiting artist with a long history that has his seen his art exhibited and collected by museums in the USA it’s a no brainer to consider his NFTs for acquisition.
He has tightly considered conceptual parameters that dictate the projects he works on both in his physical art and also in creating his NFTs

His Rarible site https://app.rarible.com/jeffgdavis/created
And his story “In my current art practice, I create abstract work using algorithmic processes. My artwork has been exhibited at venues throughout the U.S. including Torrance Art Museum, Arizona State University, Lawrence University, the University of Minnesota, the Armory Center for the Arts in Pasadena, the Fort Collins Museum of Contemporary Art, the Center for Contemporary Art in Sacramento, and the Tucson Museum of Art. I am also the author of two textbooks, Foundations of Design and Foundations of Color.”
This is one of Jeff’s NFTs I purchased, as you can see it’s a still image, a rather beautiful colour abstraction. Just because many of the NFTs flash like strobe lights controlled by a demented coke fiend doesn’t mean that’s what you should buy (unless that’s your thing?)
I paid 0.25 ETH on SuperRare for this https://app.rarible.com/token/0xb932a70a57673d89f4acffbe830e8ed7f75fb9e0:14036:0xd0c7046810abb4a7f59db841eb7bef2727a39486

As it turned out Jeff is also a generous artist, all buyers of his ART NFTs were given #ABST and a collection to spend it on his Rarible Store, each a 1/1 ART NFT.
Yura Miron, I broke my own rule when buying his ART NFT, I like what I saw, bought it and then did my research. Luckily, I have a good eye and it seems I didn’t piss my money away. Within weeks there was a run on his ART NFTs and over 200 sold, everything he made. What I found out when I finally got around to researching Yura was that he quit work a year ago to become a full-time Crypto Artist and that now he’s finally able to survive off his crypto art sales.

Like Jeff Davis, Yura…
Has a strong COMMITMENT to his artistic practice
His art displays a CONSITANT STYLE
His art is available on various platforms meaning he’s passed the curation process and selected into more prestigious platforms that Rarible.
…and most importantly he has an UPWARD TRAJECTORY which obviously means he’s going places and worth considering for purchase (if you like what you see)
I acquired this NFT from Yura for 0.11 ETH https://app.rarible.com/token/0xd07dc4262bcdbf85190c01c996b4c06a461d2430:16334:0xd0c7046810abb4a7f59db841eb7bef2727a39486

Gala Mirissa
I stumbled upon Gala Mirissa’s ART NFT’s on Twitter simply because someone else was showing off what they bought. It can be a good way to discover artists by seeing what other people are buying, however just because someone is buying an artist’s NFTs doesn’t mean they have potential. The process of becoming an artist takes time and a lot of work, however if something catches your eye, do the research before you buy.
Gala Mirissa has something all of the 3 artists have, a sophisticated aesthetic, which simply means they know how to make art with the skills and visual sensibilities to keep getting it right and ultimately making it good.

I purchased this NFT on Rarible for 0.2 ETH
Simply put, this is a wonderful work of art, mesmeric in its subtle beauty and I couldn’t resist it.
What Gala and these other artists mentioned here are capable of doing is creating art that you want to look at and keep just for their artistic beauty which has value in itself and a bonus if it also increases in resale value.
I haven’t mentioned resale potential or value yet, just the artistic merits which should over time drive the monetary value. I bought these NFTs to hang on for a while, not to make a quick buck in flipping. I believe these Crypto artists have future potential because what they do as a matter of course is what artists should be able to do as they build their careers. They already have what it takes as the whole ART NFT scene heats up and they are perfectly positioned to grow in fame with it.
The fourth artist is SKYNECTA who joined Rarible a couple of days ago, posted his first 2 NFTs and I bought this one for the ridiculously priced 0.033 ETH

Why should you consider buying SKYNECTA’S ART NFTs, because I know something you don’t.
At the beginning of this article I said I can give advice as an art advisor and not spout the much heard “I’m not a financial advisor ….”, well thankfully the Art World doesn’t have to follow such regulations and there’s no such thing as insider trading regulations.
I know SKYNECTA as an artist and I’m responsible for introducing him to ART NFTs. Also, there’s no conflict of interest, I bought his NFTs because I liked them.
But what I do know is that SKYNECTA is the real deal, a “real world” artist whose art is perfect to be translated into ART NFTs. SKYNECTA has a real world following and like the above artists he’s developed a mature aesthetic that just needs to become ART NFTs.
Rarible recently changed its browsing setting to only list “verified” artists, which is a pain for those who are new as they become totally invisible to the general public. This makes it harder to work your way up the ranks into being verified and also into the other ART NFT platforms. The other 3 artists are all verified on Rarible and also have been curated into the other more prestigious platforms. So, all I’m saying is SKYNECTA is the real deal as an artist and nobody knows he’s now committed to making a name for himself as a Crypto artist making NFTs.
What I spent;
Jeff Davis 0.25 ETH
Yura Miron 0.11 ETH
Gala Mirissa 0.2 ETH
SKYNECTA 0.033 ETH
A total of 0.593 ETH and I could easily sell just one of them for over 1 ETH
Next article I’ll go into detail about other aspects to consider when buying….
*this article was written a few weeks ago to be posted on a private forum, since then all 4 artists have continued to grow in strength and SKYNECTA just got verified on Rarible and I acquired another of his ART NFTS.
